I had a very disappointing experience as a new patient with Dr. Kenneth D. Schwartz, DDS in Schenectady. I had scheduled my new-patient dental appointment months in advance. About a week beforehand, the office called and asked if I could move the appointment up by a week, and I agreed. When I arrived for my cleaning, I waited about 30 minutes to be seen. The appointment then stretched to roughly 90 minutes. The setup itself was also unusual compared with other dental offices I’ve visited: there was no rinse sink beside the dental chair, so every time I needed to spit or rinse during the cleaning, I had to get out of the chair, walk over to a separate sink, and then get back into the chair. I did this at least five times during the appointment. My dental X-rays also had to be repeated several times because the staff was having difficulty with new software. At that point, I had to leave. I have two young children at home, my husband had taken time away from work so I could attend the appointment, and I had already been at the dental office far longer than expected. "I cannot say enough good things about my first visit to Dr. Schwartz! I usually have a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist, but everyone that assisted me was perfect. Mitzy is an amazing hygienist.. It was the best and most thorough cleaning I’ve experienced in years! She knows what she is doing and cares about her patients. 10 stars for Mitzy. The entire staff is just wonderful.

I called Schwartz Family Dentistry when I had a dental concern and found my own dentist's office was closed for a week. Dr. Schwartz's staff got me right in and helped me in the kindest and most gentle manner possible. Every single staff member I interacted with was fabulous and 100% welcoming, friendly, helpful, and kind. I switched my dental providers and will now only be going to Schwartz Family Dentistry. I can't recommend them enough! Thank you, Dr. Tarasova and crew!

We had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Kenneth Schwartz and his office. We contacted the office simply to follow up on required paperwork related to VA Community Care. We explained that if documentation is completed properly and submitted on time, it helps prevent delays in care—something especially important given the pain I am currently dealing with. Instead of working with us, the interaction became unprofessional. The staff was dismissive, and the doctor later returned the call and spoke in a rude and disrespectful manner to my wife. We were labeled as “pushy” for calmly explaining how the VA process works and referencing required timelines. Following this interaction, Dr. Schwartz stated that he would be terminating my care and would no longer see me as a patient. This has left me without a provider and delayed my ability to receive necessary treatment. Additionally, the wisdom tooth that I was told needed to be extracted did not hurt prior to my visit, but began causing pain after I left the office, which raises concerns about the overall quality of care.
